pool, sun, kids, hysterical grandmothers.
think sesame street meets good times with a few trannies thrown in for good measure. too much fun.
show key, show lock, reveal lining in shorts and you're in. don't ask questions, you'll most likely get a shrug and/or a grunt. no cell phones.
huge circular pool with one swimming lane and mega concrete grandstand. the rest of the space is over run by bomb diving first graders, floating oldies and local tanners.

located at north central park [106th st entrance] this is probably one of new yorks more colorful manmade bodies of water. perfect alternative to 2 hours on the LIRR to jones beach. lock, key and lined board shorts required for entry. good sense of humour required for survival.
