In a sprawling city megalopolis such as Mexico City, it may be hard to find appropriate lodgings, but when focusing on the vibe of a neighbourhood, Polanco often ends on top. Home to renowned dining establishments, upscale boutiques and top-notch museums, it’s the home turf of the city’s upper crust. Needless to say, the area is dotted with various lodgings that cater to visitors with deep pockets, but as of late, a more democratic, design-led property has opened its doors which tick all of our boxes. Condo hotel Ana Polanco occupies an eight-storey concrete structure, but boasts a striking featurean exterior wooden structure which provides the rooms on the upper floors with rather spacious outdoor terraces.

Interestingly, lush potted plants are abundantly present on the terraces, and intentionally create a privacy filter between rooms, rather than a wall or other rigid element. The hotel has been designed by Mexico City-based architecture practice Local de Arquitectura, but this specific element is a collaborative element with local construction company Factor Eficiencia. The interior design, created by Mexican design practice Mariana Rocha Studio, is simple yet homey, captured largely by timeless design in warm materials. Catering to today’s savvy traveller, the rooms and apartments come with all the modern amenities they require, including free WiFi, a flatscreen TV, a separate bathroom and a kitchenette. © superfuture.com
