In recent years, we’ve seen A.P.C. expand its retail presence exponentially in Japan, but elsewhere in Asia, its contemporary men’s and women’s silhouettes resonate equally well. Although its collections have been available in Manila have been available in select multi-brand shops for quite some time, the city lacked a branded retail space. Well, that was yesterday. A branded A.P.C. pop-up store has opened its doors at the Rockwell Center, a massive shopping and office complex in the city’s leafy Makati district. The store occupies a glass-encased unit at the Power Plant Mall, a separate section within the complex. The retail space features an interior design by London-based creative practice Hotel Creative, and sees a backdrop and tiered displays crafted from intricately stacked wooden logs. Additional furnishings include timber clothing rack units, while shelving has been created within the timber back wall panel. The waxed concrete flooring, which features the A.P.C. logo painted onto it, ties in with an exposed ceiling which lays bare a myriad of utility pies. The new A.P.C. store carries a selection of the brand’s men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, bags, and small leather goods.

Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
