the coming of age of prada's sister brand miu miu is not only evident through the latter's independent and more audacious design aesthetics, but also in a growing retail network all its own. after opening up shop in padua this summer, yet another boutique opened its doors on home turf, this time in turin. the store is located in a rather grand historical building smack in the centre, and measures 265 sqm. [2,852 sq.ft.] spread over two floors. the interior design is by architect roberto baciocchi who crafted a retail space where products are displayed like high-end jewellery pieces in a treasure room. from the entrance, shoppers reach the bags and accessories area, where a soft curtain of golden damask covers the safe-shaped displays. footwear is presented on the mezzanine floor while one floor up miu miu's ready-to-wear collection is showcased in an opulent setting of vaults and walls covered in golden damask. location: via lagrange 6c [centro].
