todd hido is a contemporary photographer based in san francisco. hido was first drawn to photography as a teen riding bmx bikes and shot his friends hitting the ramps. he received an m.f.a. from the california college of arts + crafts in 1996 and his b.f.a. from the school of the museum of fine arts in boston, and also tufts university. hido's work involves urban and suburban housing across the u.s., of which the artist produces large, highly detailed and luminous colour photographs. currently on at the gallery of the post bookstore in tokyo is hido's first ever exhibition in japan, showcasing an exemplary selection of photographs from his silver meadows and portraits series [on through sep 1]. location: 2-10-3 ebisu minami [ebisu].
