tokyo: the terminal opening

it's not an office, it's not a café and it isn't a restaurant either. instead it's all of the aforementioned rolled into one. officially opening its doors in tokyo today is the terminal, a 24-hour hybrid creative space that specifically caters to the city's creative community. its concept is work+study+eat+drink+play+24h=the terminal and that basically says it all. there's an admission fee of jpy 150 and renting a work space here costs just jpy 190 per 30 minutes, and that includes free use of internet and a drink.

the terminal is designed by tokyo-based design practice jamo associates, and has the feel of a hotel lobby, albeit a friendly, homey and very wired one. although the vibe here is industrial, it's warmed up a bit through the use of additional 'soft' materials such as wood and fabrics. the terminal also boasts a meeting room for private business talk and when it's time to recharge for the next round, you can order a selection of yummy bites supplied by the takibi bakery + bistro. we just can't wait to get busy here! location: 3-22-12 jingumae, 3rd floor [harajuku].
