© matohu matohu is a japanese women's brand with a quirky philosophy, creating apparel that's less about whimsical trends and more about timeless quality and style. it recently leaped forward, inaugurating a flagship store in tokyo's boutique-infested harajuku area. measuring a compact 53 sqm., it's designed by architect mitsuru kiryu. he adorned the shop with white-washed japanese cedar wood and had storage compartments built in along the walls. in the middle white latticed displays were erected, adding subtle visual drama. the new matohu store stocks the brand's new collection, in addition to a sharply curated selection of items from compatible designers and brands. there's also an exhibition space that features artists compatible with matohu's philosophy. location: 5-9-25 jingumae [harajuku].
