to japanese designer extraordinaire issey miyake, africa has been a major inspiration. and we can't help think that the window installation by artist didier ahadsi that's currently on at the magnificent elttob tep flagship store in ginza, is another ode of sorts to the dark continent. hailing from togo, ahadsi started out as an automotive sheet steel metal worker before he became an independent artist and a rising star in the african contemporary arts scene shortly after. called la vie d'afrique d'aujourd'hui, his installation consists of a series of compelling scenes from every-day life in africa, all crafted with a twist of humour and irony [on through dec 25]. location: 4-4-5 ginza [ginza].
