the louis vuitton flagship on omotesando dori is one the french luxury brand's most prestigious stores. as such it has its very own gallery space, called espace louis vuitton, and of which there are only a few across the planet. hosting innovative art exhibitions, it currently presents infinite renew, a show by new york-based japanese artist mariko mori. mori burst onto the art scene in the mid-1990s by juxtaposing the hyper-futuristic and fantastical with the more mundane elements of contemporary japanese culture. she has exhibited at leading art venues worldwide and was given carte blanche for this show in the japanese capital. flipping the coin, the artist now chose to utilize the natural and spiritual worlds for inspiration. this exhibition features eight pieces, of which seven have been created especially for the show and three are supported by espace louis vuitton [on through jan 5]. location: louis vuitton, 5-7-5 jingumae, 7th floor [harajuku].
