tokyo: hors pistes tokyo 2014

the hors pistes tokyo film festival returns to the japanese capital for a fourth edition on sat - jun 7. initiated by the renowned centre pompidou in paris, this year's theme is discovery and boasts no less than 36 art movies - most of them screening for the first time in japan - by established directors and new talents. the event is created to explore the most innovative and avant-garde trends of today’s interdisciplinary creation, and presents a diverse selection of films, including ones directed by a new generation of female directors, films from young japanese directors, and this year there's a special program of films from brazil. next to film screenings, a number of other events and parties will be held across seven venues in central tokyo. on opening night the road movie bye bye tiger [2005] by jan peters and héléna villovitch is shown at institut français du japon [1], followed by an opening bash at bonobo [2] with deejays fruity, 1 drink, ega & cameron and surprise guests. click here to view the full program. location [1]: 15 ichigaya fuganawara-machi [iidabashi]. location [2]: 2-23-4 jingumae [harajuku].
