hors pistes is an annual avant-garde art + image festival that has been held since 2006. organized by the prestigious centre pompidou in paris, the event promotes experimentation of new forms of short and mid-length fictions by talents from across the planet, and providing audiences the opportunity to explore a rich variety of off-beat multidisciplinary art and media. this hors pistes will host its third collab edition in tokyoon jun 8-18. next to featuring films and creations from japan and a selection of the original program from paris, the event also aims to create new bridges between francejapan and the world. the festival's opening film is big boy [2012] by film director shireen seno, a work which chronicles the philippines' coming of age as a post-colonial independent nation. click [here] to view hors pistes tokyo's full screening program. location [1]: institut français, 15 ichigaya-funagawara-machi [shinjuku]. location [2]: uplink factory, 37-18 udagawa-cho [shibuya].
