savvy global retail experts know what to expect when immersing themselves in tokyo's fast-evolving retail arena, but once in a while event they can come across a jaw-dropping gem. in the latter category falls the new flagship store of corazy [pron.: co-la-jee], a japanese company which produces a quirky range of modern home products in just four colours: blue, pink, green and orange. it's a concept that cleverly anticipates the aesthetic sensibilities in the land of the rising sun. the corazys store is situated in the upscale aoyama neighbourhood, and occupies 70 sqm. ground floor unit of a lowrise building.
the interior design, created by tokyo-based practice emmanuelle moureaux architecture + design, signals the brand's concept from afar with colour-dipped fixtures. the store is playfully concepted as a library, featuring rows of bookcases adorned with one of its signature hues. the lower shelves showcase the extensive product range, while the upper ones hold dummies in matching graded colours. the corazys store stocks the brand's full range of products, including kitchen utensils, tableware, homeware, bath products and apparel items. mind you, all products are designed and manufactured in japan. location: 5-51-3 jingumae [aoyama].
