tokyo: colour engineering

painter yuichi yokoyama hails from miyazaki in southern japan, and graduated from tokyo's musashino art university. yokoyama has since been active as a manga artist but has also started to make colourful paintings and drawings that have created different following. opening sat - sep 3 [6pm-8pm] at nanzuka underground is colour engineering, an exhibition that reflects the artist's deep fascination with construction work scenes, such as the building of roads, dams and buildings. on display are a total of 18 paintings that he made last year during the open studio sessions at nanzuka underground, in addition to all 12 original illustrations from his manga series colour engineering that appeared in studio voice magazine. location: 3-1-15 shirokane, 2nd floor [minato-ku]. © nanzuka underground / yuichi yokoyama
