japanese floral artist makoto azuma keeps amazing us with his hybrid contemporary craftsmanship. now on display at tokyo’s pola museum annex is armored pine [on until mar 17], an exhibition that should be seen as a continuation of his previous shiki showcase. once again using a series of pine trees, this time delicately enveloping the plants in mesh plates. the pines grow out of the armor through the small openings, demonstrating the resilience of nature. location: pola building, 1-1-7 ginza [ginza].
