the french riviera is synonymous to the high-life, and luxury conglomerate lvmh adds to the soothing equation with a stylish boutique pop-up hotel in the region's epicentre of luxe that'll have the happy few flocking to its doorstep. located on the site of the former maison blanche, orginally built as a private villa in the 19th century, the white 1921 has now opened its doors. featuring just eight rooms and suites along an enclosed mediterranean garden, this arguably is one of the most intimate, luxury pads you'll find in st.-tropez. the rooms have all been decorated in the spirit of the former maison blanche, and feature a selection of eclectic objects and just a few hints of colour that give each one a unique character.
the hotel name white 1921 refers to what is known as the best year for vintage white wines, and to further extrapolate the concept paris-based architect jean-michel wilmotte created a sleek lounge bar in the garden. extending from the bar is a generously proportioned table d’hôtes that creates a strong link between the garden and the interior of the mansion. and as a prime spot where to lead the good life, the cellar contains a range of superior champagnes that can all be tasted by the glass. obviously, a selection of matching gourmet bites are readily available too. the white 1921 pop-up hotel remains open through oct 7. location: place des lices [centre ville].
