an innovative new retail gem is glittering brightly on orchard road, the lion city's bustling shopping artery, and it has the hipster community swooning. dubbed pact, it's exactly what the name implies, being a collab effort by and comprising of know it nothing's second boutique, kilo restaurant, and last but not least japanese hair salon pact + lim. the three enterprises share enrepreneurial values of good quality and service, and with this new venture they aim to inspire their following with a unique community effect. and we're pretty sure it'll do the trick effortlessly.

the sleek pact store is designed by osaka-based architect teruhiro yanigahara, with each of the three enterprises located in designated areas. a contemporary composition of concrete, wood, glass and steel, each section has its own distinct vibe. the ceiling with exposed pipes spans across the entire store, adding a solid dose of industrial chic and tying in all the different elements below. know it nothing stocks tightly curated contemporary men's apparel, shoes and accessories, and the current range of brands includes stephan schneider, sifr, robert geller, assembly, makr goods and norse projects.

the restaurant is also a new venture for kilo, and amidst a cool minimalist concrete setting it offers a menu that's packed with tasty japanese and vietnamese-inspired bites. mind you, it also features a bar and a 16-seat private dining area. sibling to kizuki + lim at the raffles hotel arcade, the new pact + lim hair salon is a compact yet stunning space that extends the japanese enterprise's successful dialogue with singapore hipsters by mixing refined japanese techniques with forward-thinking style. so when in singapore, be sure to include pact in that power-shopping spree. location: 181 orchard road [orchard east].
