© visvim - faded colonial glory meets cool retail
as specific as its aesthetics, the visivim brand is quite picky when it comes to choosing retail locations. the new f.i.l. flagship store in singapore is no exception, having found a home at the raffles hotel shopping arcade, not only a magnificent showpiece of colonial architecture but also an upscale shopping destination in the city. the retail space measures approx. 1,000 sq.ft. [93 sqm.] is full of character, featuring an antique wooden parquet flooring, ornate tin ceilings, traditional japanese shikkui plaster finish on the walls, and old wooden shop counters and cabinets hailing from the late 1800s to early 1900s. visvim's creative director hiroki nakamura incorporates a local element or feel into every new f.i.l. boutique and sure has plenty to work with at this historic location. managed by the people behind the surrender boutique located elsewhere on the premises, the store will carry a range of visvim's overseas exclusive items. location: 328 north bridge road, shop 01-33 [city hall].
