after the initial launch in porto alegre in 2008, the traveling transfer urban art show arrives in são paulo. opening sun - jul 18 at the pavilhão das culturas brasileiras, a new art space in ibirapuera park, the massive exhibition displays contemporary visual art, street art, skateboarding [through photos, videos and live performances], independent music, as well as underground comics and fanzine art from the last two decades. there'll also be original artwork and site-specific installations from a series of acclaimed brazilian and american urban artists, including os gêmeos, larry clark, barry mcgee, onesto and evan hecox. the transfer show highlights the history and complexity of these interrelated creative cultures between both nations that now are merging with the mainstream art world on an international scale. location: parque do ibirapuera, rua pedro álvares cabral [vila nova conceição].
