chelpa ferro is a brazilian art collective, formed by jorge barrão, luiz zerbini and sergio mekler. they're known for incorporating discarded machines and objects into their work, and creating ingenious new installations out of these items. their current show at galeria vermelho, called spacemen/cavemen, is exemplary of this genre, combining wires, power cords, ropes, loudspeakers and lights in two modules of sound and light that communicate in random ways [on through aug 27]. location: rua minas gerais 350 [higienópolis].
