© prada - a new store at jk iguatemi mall
as mentioned in a previous post, the glittering new jk iguatemi mall in são paulo undisputedly is south america's fanciest mall. this nucleus of luxury stores is where many a self-discerning fashion brand has a presence, and that also counts for prada. after inaugurating its first store in the city at cidade jardim mall earlier this year, this is the brand's second store but at 630 sqm. [6,781 sq.ft.] it's more than double in size. the store interior has been designed by house architect roberto baciocchi who incorporated all the trademarks of the milanese fashion house: walls in pastel green linen fabric, chequered black and white marble floors and fluffy beige carpet. in the area dedicated to the women’s collections, the wide mirrored and soft saffiano cera leather surfaces give the space an atmosphere of demure chic. alongside the display elements in glass and polished steel, green velvet clover leaf sofas, designed by verner panton, add visual drama. the space for men’s collections is characterized by furniture in rosewood and details in polished steel, castorino-coloured velvet sofas and display elements in glass and black saffiano leather surfaces. location: avenida kubitschek 2041, shop 111 [vila olímpia].
