a renowned cradle of great design and architecture, brazil's creative industries have expanded and flourished along with its steady economic growth of late. demand of quality design on home turf is growing, especially among those with deep pockets. high import duties on foreign goods are another important factor that render brazilian-made design more favourable. currently on in são paulo is a major design + lifestyle event which not only demonstrates the sophistication of its designers, but also the savoir-vivre of the country's upper crust that fondly embraces them. called casa cor são paulo, it's the biggest event of its kind in the americas, aiming to inspire a wide audience with new trends and ideas.
as in previous years, this 28th edition presents 79 specially conceptualized indoor and outdoor environments on the swanky premises of the jockey club de são paulo, all by leading brazilian design professionals that have been selected by a discerning committee. the settings propose design options for homes, apartments, studios and gardens in various contemporary styles. the core showcase is supplemented by a number of other presentations, including homewares by high-end lifestyle brands, a mini art show by graffiti artist eduardo kobra and a display of decoration and landscaping collectibles [on through jul 20]. location: jockey club de são paulo, avenida lineu de paula machado 1263 [cidade jardim].
