paris has a cool new hipster hub - it's way too hybrid and too big to categorized as simply a hipster hangout - and it's called wanderlust. launched by the nocturnal fun experts at savoir-faire collective which also runs popular hot spots social club and silencio, this new space is located at les docks, a futuristic multipurpose complex designed by architecture practice jakob + macfarlane, and which is to be the city's newest center for fashion and design. taking cues from les docks' mission, wanderlust transcends the usual boundaries of a happening club. next to an indoor space with a configuration that's flexible enough to also host exhibitions, performances and other events, it features an industrial-style restaurant [partially indoor] helmed by chef benjamin darnaud and a bar. but that's not all, folks. another major attraction is the expansive 1,600 sqm. [17,222 sq.ft.] outdoor party terrace with sweeping views of the river and city, and on top of that an 80-seat open-air cinema. there's a lot going on at wanderlust. again, it's not only parties and film screenings...although they're a lot of fun. the program is pretty eclectic and the string of upcoming events also includes an organic food market and a pop-up store. so, be sure to check this place out when in town! location: 32 quai d'austerlitz [salpêtrière].
