paris: pop-up store by galerie des galeries

galeries lafayette has been a leading department store for decades, and with years of retail expertise it knows how to keep its savvy clientele inspired, also outside the realm of powershopping. galerie des galeries, the store's in-house cultural space on the first floor, currently hosts pop-up store, an interesting showcase that features a well-edited selection of items from the three disciplines that lie at the core of the venue’s mission: art, fashion and design. presented in a setting by designer julie pfligersdorffer, a range of items are displayed that not only bear the hallmarks of novel fashion accessories, limited-edition artworks and designer objects, but also spring from a genuine artistic process. participants include the quirky andrea crews collective, which works midway between art and fashion, bringing together designers, video artists, musicians and performers. there'll be hybrid jewellery designs of ligia dias, publisher bernard chauveau showcases its latest collabs with designers david dubois and christian ghiongalerie de multiples carries on its intention to help make contemporary art accessible to a broad audience through a presentation of limited edition works, and much, much more. the set-up also includes a bookshop that carries a selection of works and magazines with various links to the venue’s program [on through sep 22]. location: 40 boulevard haussmann, 1st floor [st.-honoré].
