paris: polaroids

opening today [6pm-9pm] at galerie magda danysz in paris is polaroids, an exhibition by new york-based artist julian schnabel. one of the key figures of contemporary art, schnabel has always used photography as an important point of reference for many of his paintings but has lately fully reinvented himself as an equally gifted photographer, using an old polaroid camera. on display at the show are a series of stunning self-portraits and photos of a slew of his celeb friends, including mickey rourke, takashi murakami, plácido domingo, lou reed and christopher walken [on through dec 3]. location: 78 rue amelot [bastille]. © galerie magda danysz / julian schnabel - untitled [mickey rourke] [2008]
