paris: nüba terrace opening

in no time the docks en seine has become the fav stomping ground of a whole new generation of paris hipsters. we talked about this new hub of fashion and design along the river seine in a previous post, right after the happening wanderlust club had opened its doors on the expansive rooftop terrace. well, it sure is big up there as yet another club has taken up residence at that elevated spot, and it's called nüba. the place is conceptualized by party veteran lionel bensemoun and his la clique collective - yes indeed, the very same peeps behind buzzing parisian establishments such as le baron, chez moune and hôtel amour - and is a laid-back meeting place with a bohemian edge. the outdoor entourage is charmingly low-key, featuring simple wooden benches and vintage furniture, and a tiny wooden shack accommodates the deejay and his decks. nüba's formula is still being tweaked to perfection, and the planned club that is to arise here isn't open until early next year. so, for now there's just the terrace to enjoy from fridays to sunday [when weather permits, obviously]. the menu lists simple but organic bites that match nüba's laid-back vibe, such as burgers and french fries. we think it's a winner already! location: quai d'austerlitz 36 [salpêtrière].
