aesop has set up a special installation at merci concept store in paris to showcase its first fragrance, marrakech intense. as striking as the australian cometics brand's stores, the showcase consists of no less than 30 kilometres of linen rope, dangling in tresses from the ceiling and forming an intimate enclosure. the installation is situated near the store entance and forms the backdrop of a dadaist spinning wheel of sorts on which bottles of marrakech intense are discreetly presented. the fragrance has been created in collaboration with french perfumer barnabé fillion, it combines neroli and jasmine with sandalwood, cedarwood and bergamot. as its name already implies, the ancient city of marrakesh served as primary inspiration, for the evocative aromas of spices used in local dishes, intense colours characteristic of its souks and the surrounding desert [on through oct 27]. location: merci, 111 boulevard beaumarchais [marais].
