there's a growing demographic of savvy shoppers who've abandoned the traditional yet worn-out definition of luxury. to them the finer things in life tell a compelling story, plus they're often one of a kind for other reasons than sheer prestige. well, this is where thomas erber stepped into the picture. as a journalist and editor for a handful of prestigious publications, he has garnered fifteen years of insight and knowledge of the arts and the luxury industry, and made his next career move by launching the unique cabinet de curiosités in 2010. this annual traveling showcase presents a tightly curated range of luxury goods, and is considered by many lifestyle connoisseurs as a must-see event where to snap up rare trophies.

after editions in london, berlin, new york, and last year in bangkok, the cabinet de curiosités de thomas erber, as it's officially called, has headed back to the french capital for a dual presentation at two inspiring venues: concept store colette [1] and le molière gallery [2]. for this year's event, erber has once again rallied a fine set of designers and artists - mind you, more than 80 from across the planet have been invited - to present an eclectic range of one-off and limited edition items. this year, the elaborate group creators will be divided into four groups for the anniversary date event: the permanent invited creators consist of long-term partners of erber, the ones who actually were the first to agree to take part in the highly discerning event.

participating in this section are brands such as alexandre de bétak, officine générale and maison kitsuné. the 2015 creators include first-time exhibitors, such as amish boyish, bedwin & the heartbreakers and études studio.  the anniversary invited creators are made up of around 50 creators with whom erber has enjoyed working the most in the previous editions, and onviously he's invited them back. who? the likes of pierre hardy, house of waris, common projects and many more. last but certainly not least, there's the special invited creators, a range of goods by exceptional as selected by australian fashion journalist dan thawley [on through dec 24]. for picky shoppers, christmas shopping never has been made so easy. location [1]: 213 rue st.-honoré [st.-honoré]. location [2]: 40 rue de richelieu [st.-honoré].
