if you read our previous post on habitat 1964, you know that leading parisian retailer l'éclaireur is part of the new vintage showcase on the outskirts of paris with a shop all its own. located in a separate warehouse that once sheltered the collections of famed antiques gallery steinitz, it features an alluring mix of offerings from the retailer's very own contemporary archives, incuding fashion and accessories, furniture and design objects, in addition to work by emerging talents. there's currently a special showcase of rather cool works from the progetto domestico series by italian designer vincenzo de cotiis. a graduate of the politecnico di milano, de cotiis is known for his ability to effortlessly combine an architect's sense of space with the sensitivity of an artist. the limited edition pieces on display are closer to sculpture than functional design, but are conceptualized as furniture. each piece is made from reclaimed materials and then additionally tweaked and embellished by experimental procedures and technical parts. location: 77-81 rue des rosiers [st.-ouen].
