highly influential and on top of his game, karl lagerfeld's every move is instant fodder for planet's fashion crowds. it's no wonder that last week's launch of the very first karl lagerfeld concept store in paris has been one of the most anticipated openings ever. located on the main thoroughfare of the designer's beloved st.-germain neighbourhood, the store measures 190 sqm. [2,150 sq.ft.] spread over two floors. the decorum is predominantly black and white - lagerfeld's fav colour scheme - and incorporates a lot of hi-tech to enhance the shopping experience.

the karl lagerfeld concept store is the first of its kind and dedicated entirely to his own men's and women's collections, including apparel, accessories, shoes, select books and his new range of watches. the store opening party was strategically scheduled during paris fashion week and pulled a slew of the movers and shakers. a second and more intimate retail unit is to open in the marais area next april, as part of a total of 10 new boutiques that are scheduled to open across europe and asia. the first karl lagerfeld store outside of france is to open in amsterdam's canal district coming may. paris location: 194 boulevard st.-germain [st.-germain].
