with karl lagerfeld firmly at the helm of chanel, every six months the fashion pack eagerly awaits what he's got up his sleeve this time. and being the very clever creative that he is, you never know except that it's going to be fab. during last week's paris fashion week monsieur lagerfeld presented chanel's a/w 2014 collection at the grand palais in an extraordinarily detailed and rather surreal supermarket setting. models clad in full chanel regalia cavorted amidst laden shelves and displays toting both designer bags and shopping baskets. and although surreal, the setting was appealing enough for the show's invitees to massively besiege and ransack the setting. but alas, inexorable security guards at the exit made sure all trophies were - although somewhat grudgingly - handed back by the shop lifters. location: grand palais, 3 avenue du général eisenhower [champs-elysées].
