aesop and paris are clearly a great match, as the australian cosmetics brand opens its sixth store here today. situated in leafy st.-germain, only a few blocks away from where it first opened up shop in the neighbourhood, the new shop occupies a small but elegant space near the st.-sulpice church. designed by emiliano salci and britt moran of studio dimore in milan, the interior reflects the sophisticated french bourgeois aesthetic of the neighbourhood in an understated way. upon entering shoppers encounter an elongated and cabinet clad in copper occupies the entire right wall, stretching to the far end of the store.
it has three sinks, two beautiful vintage mirrors and is paired with separate copper shelving. the opposite wall features a wall-mounted cabinet in dark wood, and is also laden with coveted aesop merchandise. a sturdy wooden counter is placed in between. the retail space is further furnished with a set of metal chairs upholstered in green fabric which beautifully contrast with the black and white checkered floor, and two coquettish mini-chandeliers adorn the ceiling. the decorative façade grill is duplicated in the railing of the spiral staircase behind the sales counter. the new aesop store carries the brand's full range of skin, body and hair care products. location: 5 rue du vieux colombier [st.-germain].
