supersleek, if not superchic. acne have pulled out all the stops and opened a very artsy second store in paris, this time on the very eastern edge of the marais area. housed in a former garage, creative director jonny johansson retained much of the venue's utilitarian elements while cleverly adding clean, hi-tech scandinavian aesthetics. the result is a rather stunning retail environment that transcends its usual limitations. the entrance section is adorned by gold-hued glass and a striking sculpture by british artist daniel silver. the rough industrial walls form the overall backdrop, juxtaposed with soft-coloured carpets and aluminum partition panels. the ceiling is a dark blood red and punctuated by led lighting while walls morph into long benches, display areas and seating space. the new store carries acne's full range of men's + women's apparel, shoes and accessories. location: 3 rue froissart [marais].
