based out of oslo, ingrid bredholt and patrik rosenfors are the duo behind acclaimed streetwear brand mardou & dean. the brand is generally inspired by the quirky beatnik culture and literature, and specifically geared towards today's young urban traveler with a penchant for adventure. the sharp-cut silhouette is very much a trademark of mardou & dean, and paired with a good fit and quality fabrics, it easily appeals to a young and fashion-conscious demographic on the move. the brand's a/w 2014 collection takes cue from the aurora borealis, a natural phenomenon in the nordic region. a palette of dark blue, black and green is intertwined with light reflective materials such as metallic leather, mirror and silver embroideries that give the tailored garments a heightened contemporary edge. for men, the leather pieces can easily be combined with denim, while women have plenty of options to add soft and fluid pieces to achieve an appealing look. shown here are four looks that we particularly like. mardou & dean's a/w 2014 collection is available at select stores in norway and the u.k., but can also be ordered online.
