y-3 celebrates its 10th anniversary, and for its s/s 2013 collection the brand blends past and future to create plenty of fresh interpretations of its sport-style signatures. the show at new york fashion week was an in-depth exploration of all of the iconic elements of the label’s pioneering aesthetic: the acid-bright prints; the bold, voluminous silhouettes and of course the graphic three-stripe motif. but the new collection also featured a distinct contemporary edge by way of hayashi-san, printmaker to the japanese imperial court. the master crafted three motifs in brilliant hues of orange, blue, pink, and green which were depicted on a range of items, from mesh parkas, baseball caps, and silk scarves to stretch tights, canvas totes, and ruffle gloves. shown here are seven cool men's and women's looks from y-3's s/s 2013 collection that we particularly like.
