photo: the twa air terminal awaits fitting redevelopment amazingly, the former twa air terminal at new york's john f. kennedy airport has been vacant for the past 10 years. only now has the port authority of new york and new jersey launched a plan to turn this iconic building by eero saarinen, into a 150-room boutique hotel. the terminal itself should serve as the entrance + lobby to a new hotel annex that is to be built in between the terminal and the jetblue building. in 2008 the port authority invested approx. usd 20 million to restore the interior and to attract developers. location: terminal 5, jfk access road [john f. kennedy international airport].
