new york: the new gypsies

© iain mckell we've always been interested in things off the beaten track and matters related to lifestyles out of the ordinary. london-based photographer iain mckell shot the new gypsies, a compelling and unique series created over a period of more than 10 years about group of present-day nomads in the u.k. whose culture is centered around ideals of freedom, nature, and simplicity. they're punks in the landscape, born out of the countercultures of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as the rave culture of the 1990s. an exhibition of these photos can be viewed at clic gallery from mon - aug 29, and the official opening party will be held on sep 15 [6pm-8pm]. location: 255 centre street [soho].
