robert geller's a/w 2012 collection is inspired primarily by early 1980s post-punk bands and represents a revised take on the classic english style. the basic silhouettes are a continuation of geller's s/s 2012 collection with the designer reworking traditional patterns while contrasting proportions, volume, and fit. signature sportswear and sharp tailoring are mixed in with a healthy dose of super textural layering using wool, leather, silk, mesh and waxed cotton.
for fall, the color palette is based on colliding earth tones highlighted by burnt orange and powdery marigold. color blocked, structured coats and waxed cotton zip parkas made a strong appearance with exceptional cable knits and a few finer unstructured cardigans and sweaters. all in all the season speaks of the clash between traditional brit tailoring and rabid punk energy - which defines two very different, but equally timeless moments in music and fashion.
