new york: nicola's pop-up store

© boffo / photography: evan joseph amidst the opening frenzy of new york fashion week, the boffo building fashion non-profit arts + culture organization launched nicola's, a striking pop-up concept store collab with superstylist nicola formichetti. brilliantly conceptualized by formichetti, the shop is like a mirorred prism grotto, and so bedazzling, it would have put liberace's vegas mansion to shame. the retail space measures 1,300 sq.ft and was constructed with the help of new york-based architecture practice gage/clemenceau. so what's in store at nicola's? a range of limited edition men's and women's items from mugler, iphone cases, jewellery, t-shirts and exclusive designs by international designers, including nine emerging creatives from china that formichetti personally selected. to top off the visual spectacle installations from formichetti’s past and present creations and collabs are put on display [open through sep 22]. location: 50 walker street [tribeca].
