the uniqlo store in soho features a new installation by artist stephen talasnik [on until aug 31]. dubbed koi, it's a handmade 25 ft.-long wooden fish. fish are an integral part of japanese culture, representing everything from a ritualistic symbol to a culinary delight. wood serves as a cultural icon in japan and is used in everything from eating utensils to housing. location: 546 broadway [soho]. © uniqlo / click image to enlarge
