new york: isabel marant store opening

a slice of bastille in the big apple. we're talking designer isabel marant's first u.s. flagship store that officially opened its doors in soho last weekend. occupying a spacious 2,240 sq.ft. on the ground floor of a characteristic 19th century building, french architect nicolas andré [assisted by beyhan karahan & associates] retained many of its original features while adding minimalist design elements such as poured concrete and ash panels. at the center stands a striking cocoon-like jewellery display made from undulating timbers that stretch from floor to ceiling. the new isabel marant boutique carries the brand's complete women's collections. plans are underway for a second flagship, to be opened in los angeles. location: 469 broome street [soho]. © isabel marant
