ever since its foundation in the early 1990s, wu-tang clan has been an influential rap collective, and one that has also launched the careers of quite a few affiliated artists and groups. new york-based photographer alessandro zuek simonetti met the group during an italian stop-over of their 2010 reunited in full force tour, and captured the behind-the-scenes antics of members ghostface killah, method man, u-god, raekwon, inspectah deck and masta killa. simonetti's photo essay has now been compiled in a self-published, 96-page bookzine format called il can del wu, featuring black and white images shot in film. only 1,000 copies will be produced, in addition to a limited edition version which includes a silver gelatin print for usd 100. a book launch party + signing is held today [3pm-8pm] at the standard hotel's night haunt le bain, in attendance of the snapping creative himself. this publication can be snapped up at hotel bookstore, but can also be ordered online. location: 848 washington street [west village].
