new york: cure thrift shop opening

christmas and credit crunch. there's a place in new york city that fits both the holiday spirit and downsized budgets: the new cure thrift shop. this 5,000 sq.ft. space is a showcase of antique and contemporary furniture, books, jewellery and lots of designer-branded vintage clothes [the lower level of the shop is even dedicated to designer fashion]. and if you've got something to donate, go right ahead. the shop picks up furniture donations for free in new york, new jersey and even connecticut. all proceeds of the store go to the diabetes research institute. location: 111 east 12th street [east village]. note: click image to enlarge
