new york: castaneda/reiman

there's an intriguingly deceptive element in castaneda/reiman's new work that triggers us. the san francisco-based collaborative artists focus on the relationship between the natural landscape and the desire for its representation in domestic spaces. opening at dckt contemporary on sep 10 [6pm-8pm] is a new installation that appears to include these traditional landscape paintings but, upon closer inspection, reveals a collection of ersatz replicas constructed materials commonly found on construction sites. location: 195 bowery [lower east].
