new york: capital of the world

how peculiarly in synch with current times. we're talking capital of the world, a guided tour series [organised by the lower manhattan cultural council] to some of the most architecturally significant 'temples' built for and by the financial sector. you'll visit five historic private residences, meeting rooms and penthouses that dot and crown the canyon of wall street. each event in the series will tie a theme to the site, featuring a talk by a scholar or panel on the relationship between capital and urban development, highlighting how finance shapes our built environment. the first tour is held at the bank of new york building on jan 14 [6.30pm-8.30pm]. rsvp [here] to join this tour.
