monterrey [mx]: mykita store opening

this is mykita's new mexican outpost and probably the most surprising store opening of late. no, it's not in the capital mexico city but in monterrey, an industrial hub in the northeast of the country. the berlin-based eyewear brand opened up shop in hotel habita, a sleek, award-winning hospitality complex designed by architect agustín landa. that may have got something to do with it, as the store's strong signature aesthetics effortlessly blend in. the mykita store is divided into three sections: a brightly coloured sales area at the front with spectacular presentation wall holding over 500 frames, a kitchen and a workshop at the back. large, strategically placed mirrors optically increase the size of the stylish store. location: avenida josé vasconcelos 150 oriente [san pedro garza garcía]. © mykita
