photographer arthur elgort first gained the fashion limelight in the early 1970s with a spread for british vogue. ever since, his signature snapshot style has been in high demand with leading fashion publications and high profile brands alike. two decades later elgort witnessed and contributed to the rise of the first generation of supermodels with a slew of iconic [cover] shots. a publication of his work, entitled the big picture, was released by steidl late last year, and an eponymous exhibition followed which launched in new york city. featuring many fashion shots and portraits from elgort's stellar career, that show has now arrived at galleria carla sozzani in milan, opening there today [6pm-9pm]. mind you, the star photographer himself has flown into town to attend the opening party, mingle with guests and obviously sign some copies of his book [on through apr 6]. location: corso como 10 [porta garibaldi].
