only established in 2011, fashion brand kloke takes a big next step with a brand new flagship store at homebase melbourne. located in the fitzroy area of town, the store measures 50 sqm. [538 sq.ft.] and is designed by local design collective sibling. the aesthetic is clean, simple yet meticulously detailed, and very much an extrapolation of kloke's values and style. pristine white walls are paired with limed floorboards, and copper pipes have been used to craft sleek clothes racks, two suspended ones along either side of the shop and an asymmetrical floor-standing version is placed in the middle.
a mirrored back wall not only reflects the ample daylight but also visually enlarges the retail space. the store is further furnished with numerous cubes made from tasmanian ash. stacked along the store’s right wall, the cubes resemble a japanese staircase cabinet, and is high enough to incorporate a fitting room. in the centre of the store, cubes are stacked alongside glass and copper display cases, all of which can be reconfigured to create new forms and displays. adding up to the serene vibe are lush hanging plants. the new kloke flagship carries the brand's full range of men's and women's collections. location: 270 brunswick street [fitzroy].
