© bassike - a new melbourne outpost
after having launched three stores in the sydney area, australian fashion label bassike shifts its focus southwards to open its first retail outpost in melbourne. the store occupies the ground floor of an oversized red brick corner structure, and has been designed by kelvin ho of architecture + design practice akin. ho crafted a minimalist and flexible interior with all the right basics that easily adapts to seasonal collections, installations and events. to maximize this concept permanent fixtures have been kept to a minimum while a sculptural louvered wall - concealing the fitting rooms - acts as a centerpiece for the store. this louvered wall is also an element that echoes the brand's existing stores up north. the new bassike store carries the brand's men's and women's collections, in addition to a rather sharp selection of international brands such as repetto, giorgio brato, maiami, petite grand, and trophy eyewear from dries van noten, linda farrow and the row. location: 617 malvern road [prahran].
