rebelling against the high shop rents keeping emerging designers out of london's boutiques, designer karolin maier-hauff found inspiration in a phenomenon that was emblematic of her native berlin for many decades: squatting. in her new concept store in south belgravia, aptly named squatters, new fashion talent is invited to 'squat' for periods of one to six months. the first series designers to do so include alice palmer, pepper and pistol, borba margo, louise armstrup and olanic. squatters opens on nov 5 [7pm-11pm - invite only!]. location: 45 pimlico road [belgravia].
