london: silent warriors

launching today at parasol unit is silent warriors, a solo exhibition by paris-based artist adel abdessemed. the artist is known for addressing difficult subject matter and taboos within society and presents them as naked truth. the show is organised around two of abdessemed’s major works: a suspended, 17-metre human skeleton made of fibreglass hung together with an aeroplane propeller and a new installation entitled silent warrior, which includes colourful masks made from found and discarded empty tin cans from africa [on until nov 21]. location: 14 wharf road [shoreditch]. © mamco / photo: ilmari kalkkinen / adel abdessemed - habibi [2003]
